Insignia Digital Estate
Three brand websites, every country edition, one CMS — and a marketing team that never has to file a ticket to change a word.
Insignia Ltd is a Tanzanian manufacturer whose brands span decorative paints, woodcare, automotive refinish and packaging. We are rebuilding their entire digital estate — a corporate site plus dedicated sites for Galaxy Paints and Coral Paints — on a single platform that publishes a tailored edition of every page for each country they sell into. The people who own the content edit it themselves, by clicking directly on the live page.

The challenge
Insignia’s brands had outgrown their web presence: separate sites meant separate content, no consistent way to serve different markets, and every copy change routed back through an agency. Expanding into a new country meant rebuilding pages rather than publishing them. They needed one platform that could carry several distinct brands, open new markets without a developer, and hand day-to-day editing back to their own team — with proper controls over who can change what, in which market.
What we built
We delivered a single platform that serves all three sites from one codebase, routing visitors by web address and detecting their country automatically. Content is published once as a default edition that every country inherits, with per-country overrides where a market genuinely differs — so launching a new country is a content task, not a build. Editors work in a visual editor that shows the real website and lets them click any headline, image or button to change it, preview it on desktop, tablet or mobile, and publish when ready.
Key features
Three brand sites, one platform
Corporate, Galaxy Paints and Coral Paints each get their own identity, navigation and feature set without three separate builds to maintain.
Country editions that inherit by default
Write content once and every market gets it; override only what genuinely differs locally.
Automatic country detection
Visitors land on the right edition for their location and can switch at any time — and their choice sticks.
Edit the live page, not a form
The visual editor previews the real site; click any text, image or button to change it in place.
Preview before you publish
Check any page, in any country edition, at desktop, tablet or mobile width, then publish with one click.
Draft and publish workflow
The public site only ever shows approved content; work in progress stays private.
Permissions by brand and by country
A Galaxy editor can’t touch Coral or corporate content, and a country manager only edits their own market.
Full audit trail
Every change is recorded with who made it, what changed, when, and for which site and country.
Self-serve branch directory and news
Searchable branches with map pins and stocked-brand tags, managed entirely in-house.
Engineering highlights
New markets without a code change
Countries are data, not deployments — add an edition in the CMS and its content, branches and switcher entry go live.
Content inheritance that can’t silently break
Redundant country overrides are pruned automatically, so a market never quietly drifts away from the default edition.
Permissions enforced where it counts
Every write is authorised on the server by role, site and country — the interface is never the only guard, and automated tests prove a brand editor is blocked from corporate content.
Built to stay green
Linting, type-checking, unit and end-to-end tests, and a production build all run on every change in CI against a real database.
