Vyasta

One workspace where a team plans the work, talks it through, jumps on a call, and keeps every decision in the same place.

Vyasta is a complete team workspace built by Sattva: project boards and tasks, real-time chat, video calls and scheduled meetings, shared notes and diagrams, a document drive, an encrypted credential vault and an owner-only accounting ledger. It’s built for small and mid-sized teams who are tired of paying for five separate tools that don’t talk to each other — and for agencies who need client work, internal comms and the books to live under one roof.

The challenge

Most teams run their day across a project tracker, a chat app, a video tool, a notes app and a spreadsheet for the money. Context gets lost in the gaps: a decision made on a call never reaches the task, a file shared in chat can’t be found a week later, and the person who needs the answer is the one person not in the thread. Every extra tool is another subscription, another login, and another place for work to quietly go missing.

What we built

We built Vyasta as a single, self-hostable workspace that folds those tools into one. Tasks, conversations, calls, documents and diagrams all share the same team, the same permissions and the same history — so a meeting can become an action item without anyone copying anything across. Calls are recorded, transcribed and summarised automatically by AI, and the summary lands straight in the team’s chat.

Key features

  • Projects and tasks that fit how teams actually work

Kanban boards, list views, milestones and a personal “my tasks” view across every project.

  • Bugs without a second tool

Bugs are just flagged tasks, so they sit in the same board and the same workflow as everything else.

  • Built-in review flow

Add reviewers to a task, and they see it under “Awaiting my review” to approve, request changes or decline.

  • Real-time messaging

Direct messages, group channels and broadcast rooms with file sharing, reactions, threads and search. Messages send instantly even offline and sync when the connection returns.

  • Video calls and scheduled meetings

Start a call from any chat, or schedule it on the team calendar with agendas and RSVPs. External guests join by link, with a waiting room so nobody walks in uninvited.

  • AI meeting summaries

Calls are recorded and transcribed, then summarised into a TL;DR, the decisions made, and who agreed to do what.

  • Shared notes, diagrams and a document drive

A rich-text editor with Google-Docs-style comments, an AI-assisted diagramming studio, and a place to keep the files. Notes can be published to a public link with an optional password.

  • Encrypted vault and an owner-only ledger

Team passwords and API keys stored under AES-256 encryption, plus a private income-and-expense ledger with a running balance and PDF export.

  • Accessible on any device

Responsive down to mobile, with an app-wide text-size setting that syncs across a user’s devices and colour contrast that meets WCAG AA.

Engineering highlights

  • One persistent inbox, everywhere

The same chat surface powers the floating widget, the full messaging page and the in-call panel — so the conversation follows you into a video call instead of restarting there. Guests joining by link are structurally locked out of that internal inbox; it isn’t a setting that can be misconfigured.

  • Calls that write their own minutes

Recording flows to storage, gets transcribed with per-speaker attribution, and an AI pass pulls out decisions and action items — posted back into the team chat as a structured card while it’s still fresh.

  • Private until shared, by default

Notes, diagrams and spaces stay invisible until their owner shares them — with no admin override, so a workspace owner can’t quietly read a colleague’s private drafts.

  • Built to be trusted with the books

The accounting ledger is owner-only, credentials are AES-256-GCM encrypted, and the whole thing self-hosts on the team’s own infrastructure — the data never has to leave.
